Artist Statement
Whitney Olson is an interdisciplinary artist. She makes art to express the inner world. Her work explores themes of memory, grief, nature, symbols, duality, and the spirit world. Through her own exploration of the inner, emotional world, Whitney seeks to connect to universal themes and symbols that communicate the more hidden experiences of being human. Influenced by outsider and folk art, her work is mainly comprised of mixed media works on paper and mosaic works on wood panel and unconventional items like animal skulls.
